API, ANSI, DIN & NACE Check Valves
Specifying check valves by standard? Jayant Valves builds to API, ASTM, ANSI/ASME, DIN, BS, NACE and MSS standards — here is how they apply to each check valve in the range.
Standards used across the Jayant check valve range
Compiled from Jayant Valves' published product data. Always state the edition and any project-specific requirements in your enquiry.
| Standard | Scope | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|
| API 598 | Valve inspection and testing | All Jayant cast and forged check valves |
| BS EN 12266-1 / -2 | Industrial valve testing (pressure tests, test procedures) | Swing, pressure seal and forged valves |
| BS 1868 | Steel check valves (flanged and butt-welding ends) | Cast swing check valves |
| ASME B16.34 | Valves — flanged, threaded and welding end | Pressure seal valves; forged Class 2500 |
| API 602 / ISO 15761 | Compact steel valves (forged) | Forged lift check valves, Class 800 & 1500 |
| ASME B16.5 / B16.47 | Pipe flanges and flanged fittings | Flanged end dimensions |
| ASME B16.10 / BS 2080 | Face-to-face and end-to-end dimensions | Cast and forged valves |
| ASME B16.25 | Butt-welding ends | BW end preparation |
| ASME B16.11 / B1.20.1 | Socket weld and threaded ends | Forged valves |
| MSS SP-44 / MSS SP-61 | Large-diameter flanges / pressure testing | Large bore and gate valves |

| IBR | Indian Boiler Regulations | Steam and boiler service (option) |
API valves
API 598 testing is the common thread across the check valve range, with API 602 / ISO 15761 governing forged valves. Buyers in the USA and the Middle East usually specify API documentation first.
Valves for USA buyers →ANSI / ASME valves
ASME B16.34 pressure-temperature ratings and ASME B16.5 flange dimensions define how valves connect to ANSI-class piping (Class 150 to 2500).
High pressure check valves →DIN, BS & EN valves
BS 1868 check valve design and BS EN 12266 testing are familiar to European and UK specifiers; DIN is part of the standards set Jayant works with.
Valves for European buyers →NACE valves for sour service
Hydrogen sulphide in oil and gas streams can cause sulphide stress cracking in susceptible steels. NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 (production) and NACE MR0103 (refining) limit hardness and restrict materials so that valves survive sour service. Jayant offers NACE-compliant construction on swing, pressure seal, dual plate and forged check valves.
Fire-safe valves
The retainerless design of the Jayant dual plate check valve is intrinsically fire safe, and Jayant ball valves are fire-safe tested to API 607 / API 6FA. State the fire-test standard your project requires when you enquire.
Valve standards FAQs
Is Jayant Valves an API valve manufacturer?
Jayant Valves manufactures valves to API design and testing standards — for example API 602 / ISO 15761 for forged valves, API 600 for gate valves and API 598 for inspection and testing. Ask the sales team which specific API licences or monograms your project requires.
Do you supply DIN-standard valves?
DIN is one of the standards families Jayant works to. For example, butterfly valves are offered with DIN 3202 face-to-face and DIN flanges. For check valves with DIN or EN flange drilling, include the requirement in your enquiry.
What is NACE MR0175 and do you comply?
NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 sets material requirements for equipment in H2S-containing (sour) oil and gas environments, and NACE MR0103 covers refinery sour service. Jayant offers NACE MR0175 / MR0103 compliance across its cast and forged valves.
